Business Acumen

Commerce is one of the foundational frameworks of all human society. 

Business interests and practices can be a problem, or a solution, or both. Tinkering in the workings of any human enterprise requires the skill and knowledge to engage with finance.

Communication is a key aspect of any effort to drive change. This can take the form of graphics, sound, video, social media or any other method of connecting with others to promote dialogue and critical engagement. Fluency with the use of language as a tool, pulling from the full emotional spectrum, and an adept ability to cultural ground our work underpins everything we are involved with.

Media 

The ability to engage with the challenging and arcane spaces of policy, government and regulation is a necessary skill in advancing a cause of any type. This requires infinite patience, committed collaboration and relentless attention to detail. The many levels and types of policy initiatives we live with and the social contracts that give them power to resist or direct change are interwoven into our lives. We need to be able to engage and respond to policy with our efforts, but also to subvert, create or change policy when it is inconsistent with the goal of an equitable and successful society.

Policy 

Services provide the opportunity for interactions of many types, and interaction provides the opportunity for the delivery of strategic goal payloads. Positive experiences can elevate an idea by accessing a more accepting, happy and agreeable mindset, and negative experiences literally close doors. We view services very broadly, and believe that most of our lives is spent in engagement with services of one type or another – which means that opportunities can arise for the pleasantly unexpected.

Experiences

The senses – touching, seeing, tasting, smelling, and hearing are irreplaceable as the most direct line of connection between our world and our minds. All engagements with objects in our world, whether physical or virtual offer these avenues for accessing our emotions and intellect. Combined with the other vectors available, this can create the opportunity for a multi-dimensional connection with or between people and communities. Finding the joy in something that pleases you is also more than a physical experience, it must satisfy all our core priorities for it to make the biggest impact – it must be sustainable, inclusive and beautiful.

Products 

Place connotes specificity. We connect with place through our other senses, and our experiences in relation to that location. The most propound memories we have elevate to all of the senses, and our intelligence and emotions in a similar way to products, but at a vastly bigger scale and level of impact. A true place requires the specific combination of factors to allow it to become definitive and unique. This can be a positive or negative effect - our cultures and societies are grounded in these remembered and experienced notion of place.

Places 

We constantly rebalance our experience of our physical world as we proceed through life. The specific experiences we ascribe to a place are contrasted with the degree of open or closed-ended space. Space can be enclosed, imbued with ideas, it can be a vector for delivering or hosting other vectors, or it can be prepared to receive the ideas and experiences of others. We usually think of buildings when considering designed space, but much of our environment is driven with less specific intent than design might connote. We work to keep an expansive view of the opportunities of space, so that we can find unique ways to create connections between people through the fogs and ethers between us.
