Fashion is a vehicle for the delivery and communication of culture. It is an enormous and influential industry with a lot to answer for, yet it is a reflection of the best, worst, and everything between that society prioritizes and tolerates. We are questioning what can be delivered through this medium: is it even possible for fashion brands to be sustainable, to promote a positive and equitable society, and to be successful? What if we revisit the idea of clothing at a first-principles level, rather than taking the increasingly frantic state-of-now as the departure point? Can we slow this down, to create a new type of product that will fit with what we believe are the shared values and priorities of responsible consumers? We’ve set ourselves the goal of defining an exceptional line and brand that will prioritize eliminating waste and abusive employment practices, and will foster an inclusive and diverse culture that is commercially viable, sustainable, and innovative in every way we can find. We love fashion as much as we are critical of it and are looking to create beautiful things that we would cherish ourselves and could be proud of in every way. Watch this space for more in the future.
